PLANS to illuminate a seaside amenity will be discussed by councillors this week.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has received a proposal to install floodlighting and amenity lighting of the Cliff Lift, at Saltburn, east Cleveland. The pier and the chalets would also be floodlit, as part of the same scheme.
The upper and lower building are Grade II listed buildings, which together with the tracks and carriages themselves are of major importance to the character of the Saltburn Conservation Area.
The council's planning committee, meeting on Thursday, will discuss the application.
