THE artist who created sculptures of two North-East football legends is being considered to make a third.
Tom Maley made monuments of Newcastle hero Jackie Milburn and Middlesbrough great Wilf Mannion and may now create an image of Sunderland's Bob Stokoe.
A £73,000 appeal was launched in the town to fund the sculpture soon after he died in Feburary. That target has almost been reached and the commission will be decided in the new year.
If chosen, Mr Maley will recreate Stokoe in the trilby, tracksuit and mac he wore at Sunderland's FA cup final win against Leeds United in 1973.
