YOUNGSTERS on Teesside were taken on an adventurous literary journey at the weekend when a diverse collection of children's authors and storytellers entertained.
Among them was African storyteller Hilaire Agnama, who enthralled youngsters with colourful tales and native drumming.
The day-long event, organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, also featured four leading children's authors -North Yorkshire writer and storyteller Penny Dolan, Eric Maddern, who travels the world in search of stories, local artist and illustrator Liz Million and the creator of Murderous Maths, Kjartan Poskitt.
They were performing at the Children's Book Festival, at the Learning Centre, in Normanby Road, Eston, on Saturday.
Organiser Jan Richardson said: "We try to appeal across the age range so there is something for everyone, and that is reflected in the range of authors we have invited."
