EVENTS management company Polar Productions has secured three contracts to provide outdoor ice rinks in the region.
The company will provide ice rinks at Gateshead Quays, Baltic Square on the banks of the Tyne, at Mowbray Park, in Sunderland, and at Kielder Reservoir, in Northumberland, as part of Kielder Winter Wonderland.
This is the third year that Polar has provided the rink at Gateshead Quays, home of the Baltic arts centre.
Last year, the ice rink there attracted more than 20,000 skaters.
This is the first year that Sunderland will have operated an outdoor rink, while an alternative Lapland Christmas experience is being created by Northumbrian Water on the shores of Kielder Water.
