REVISED plans for more than 120 homes will be discussed tomorrow.
Taylor Woodrow Developments had been granted permission to build 127 houses on land at Ewehurst Road, Flint Hill, near Stanley.
But Derwentside District Council's development control committee had been assured that the plans would be slightly altered, so the homes would be a reasonable distance from a single private house being built at the western end of the site, next to Nicholson Buildings.
The renewed plans, which have been recommended for approval, show a change in the layout of the proposed development, while the number of houses has been reduced by one.
The police architectural liaison officer has recommended that the site perimeter and all rear gardens should be secured with a robust fence or wall, without footholds, to a minimum height of two metres.
The estate will be a mixture of terraced, detached and semi-detached properties, with three to five bedrooms.
Vehicle access to the estate will be from Ewehurst Road and footpaths will be created to link the estate with Flint Hill Bank and the B6168.
A hectare of grassland, used as a public amenity in the days of the old council estate, will be retained. The developer has contributed an undisclosed sum to help to maintain the open space and will also pay £38,100 towards further play area provision in Derwentside.
