YOUNG Army cadets have been honoured for their hard work within the group and on an outside project with an awards night.
Willington Army Cadet Force praised the consistent efforts of its 19 members at the event at Willington Cricket Club, on Sunday.
A special cadet of the year award went to 15-year-old Andrew Richardson to highlight his dedication to the group, which meets at Parkside School, Willington, twice a week.
Leader Harry Little said: "He has a 100 per cent attendance record, is very enthusiastic about every project, his dress is good and he really encourages the younger members."
Five fellow cadets, pictured, picked up Duke of Edinburgh bronze awards after they completed tasks including first aid training and an expedition.
