Bishop Auckland Civic Society's town quiz raised more than £650 for the Prostate Cancer charity.
A team from Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College won the trophy, with last year's winners Bishop Auckland Cricket Club in second place.
The winners gave their £50 prize money to the charity fund.
The quiz was held in Bishop Auckland Town Hall, with Glyn Wales acting as quizmaster.
