A STUDY is under way to help the environmental business sector in part of the North-East.
South Tyneside Borough Council has asked consultants Entec to carry out the review and recommend ways of supporting sustainable businesses.
Entec senior consultant Jeniffer Smith said: "Recognising the economic opportunities of the environmental sector is one thing, but South Tyneside has realised that, to make a real difference, it must gain a deeper understanding of this potential and determine the conditions required to have a lasting impact on jobs and prosperity."
