New moves to restrict the amount of rubbish handled by a household waste recycling centre have been announced by Hartlepool Borough Council.
A permit scheme is to be introduced that will limit the number of visits to the Burn Road site by unmarked vans and pick-up trucks under two metres high to six a year.
Commercial vehicles and any vehicle over two metres high will not be allowed to dispose of waste there.
