JOB-SEEKERS in the region are being urged to use a scheme which has helped 12,000 people find work this year.
Jobseeker Direct helped people in the area find work in the region through its JobCentre Plus scheme.
The scheme adds 10,000 vacancies a day to its national online database and information can also be accessed via a hotline.
A spokesman said: "Every year, JobCentre Plus helps thousands of people across the North-East get into work.
"Many of our jobseekers quickly find what they're looking for.
"We can help them by giving them fast, easy access to full and part-time vacancies in just about every field of work, and with every type of company.
The service is available to anyone who is looking for work, and the lines are open on weekdays from 8am to 6pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
