TWO of the region's businessmen have been voted in the top ten entrepreneurs in the country.

Paul Harrison, 33, who co-owns North Yorkshire housebuilders Harron Homes, is the youngest person on business magazine Management Today's list of the UK's most successful 100 business people.

His family-run company is worth about £34m and completes 250 houses a year.

Darlington-based Duncan Bannatyne, who it is thought could be about to raise up to £100m from the sale of his 32-strong chain of fitness clubs, was placed ninth.

Michael Newton, owner of Anglo Design Holdings, in Warrington, which makes products for the security industry, topped the list following massive growth since its launch in 1997.

The magazine's top 100 looks at how well each business has developed sales and employment over the past five years.
