HAIRDRESSING students have had their styles captured on film thanks to a former tutor who now works as a professional photographer.

Keith Bailey taught at Darlington College of Technology from 1969 for 15 years before starting up his own salons in Newton Aycliffe and Chilton.

He also became a photo- grapher and his work now appears in magazines all over the world.

When he returned to the college to help students on the fast-track adult and NVQ level two hairdressing courses, he staged a photo shoot of their work.

Programme manager Diane Radford said: "The students spent the morning preparing the models' hair and make-up for the afternoon shoot.

"They will be able to use these pictures in their port- folios and we will also exhibit them around the college."

Mr Bailey, who is taking a degree in photography, said: "It has been really nice coming back to the college.

"I have a real passion for what I do, I really enjoy it, and what I have seen of the students' work tells me they enjoy what they are doing as well."
