A WOMAN has collapsed and died while on holiday in the Canary Islands.
Caroline Till, 61, of Holgate, York, was ordering a sandwich at her hotel's pool bar, in Lanzarote, when she suffered a brain haemorrhage.
She died within 24 hours in a hospital in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
Mrs Till was on holiday with her husband, Ian.
He said: "You never know when something like this can happen. This experience has taught me that when you are married to someone, you really need to cherish them every day.
"Caroline lived for other people and blessed so many lives. She was a rock for me."
Mrs Till, a worshipper at St Paul's Church, Holgate, was a talented potter and involved in several community projects.
Her funeral service will take place at St Paul's Church, Holgate, York, at 12.45pm next Friday
