VULNERABLE householders are being urged by their MP to apply for heating and insulation grants.
Easington MP John Cummings said that Government grants are available to help those in need keep their homes warm and save money on fuel bills.
Mr Cummings is giving his backing to the Warm Front Scheme, which combats fuel poverty by providing cash for insulation and heating improvements.
According to the latest figures compiled by Warm Front, more than 6,200 households in Easington have already benefited since the scheme was launched in June 2000.
