International event rider Nicola Tweddle, who has competed at the highest four star level, gets her 2005 season under way this weekend.

The 27-year-old from Morton on Swale takes a quartet of horses to the Isleham one-day event in Cambridgeshire, the opening event of the new British Eventing season.

She will be among the contenders in the top open intermediate section, in which she has entered both Endeavour II and Don't Underestimate.

Nicola will be hoping for a repeat of her 2004 performance when she finished second in this section on Highland Loch II.

The North Yorkshire rider has partnered the eight-year-old mare Don't Underestimate since 2002 and rode her successfully at two star international level in 2004.

Nicola also enjoyed a good season last year with Endeavour II, qualifying for the British Novice Championships at Gatcombe and finishing 16th in the Burgie CCI* three-day event in Scotland.

She also has two up and coming horses, Mr Micawber and Mr Nickleby, in the intermediate novice section at Isleham.
