RAILWAY enthusiasts are raising money to help pay for work to revamp a disused station.
The parish council and villagers in Scruton, near Northallerton, North Yorkshire, have already cleared away much of the vegetation from the station buildings, but more work is needed to restore them.
The Northallerton branch of Wensleydale Railway, with Scruton Parish Council, is holding a concert to raise money for the project.
Northallerton Male Voice Choir will perform at Scruton Parish Church on April 9. Greenside Ladies Choir and Scruton Junior Choir will also take part in the event, which will start at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £5 for concessions, available on (01609) 748287.
The next meeting of the Northallerton branch of the rail group will take place at the Rafa Club, Northallerton, at 7.30pm on Monday, March 14
