A PAINTER from Shotley Bridge has opened a month-long exhibition called Bits and Pieces.

Sheila Mackie's show is being held at The Glass and Art Gallery on Medomsley Road, Consett, where she will also be selling some of her work.

The collection, which will be on display until the end of the month, consists of 61 drawings, sketches and paintings.

She is renowned for her quirky paintings with fairy tale creatures in undergrowth and her accurate depiction of various creatures, especially the fox - her favourite animal.

Sheila said: "The Glass and Art Gallery has some wonderful work in it.

"I am pleased to be able to exhibit my work in such a lovely, friendly gallery that I know is enjoyed by many people."
