A DOG walker suffered a five-inch cut to his face after being slashed in a day-time robbery.
Police said the 51-year-old man was left very shaken after he was set upon by two men in Castle Hill, Richmond, just before 9am last Wednesday.
Sgt Mick Rookes, of Richmond police, condemned the attack.
He said: "This is a very unusual crime for Richmond and we will make every effort to catch the perpetrators. It had a very traumatic effect on the victim who was left very shaken."
The attackers stole the man's wallet.
The pair are described as aged between 18 and 20. One was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms, a dark top and dark baseball cap.
The other man was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms, a light top and had short spiky hair.
