AN alleged rapist threatened to put up naked photographs of his victim at a football match unless she continued to submit to sex with him, a court heard.

Newcastle Crown Court heard John Gibson, 41, made posters on his computer showing the woman without clothing and scrawled "good time girl", her private telephone number and address across them.

The court was told he put a poster on her car as it was parked outside her work and others in her garden.

The court heard how he used a secret recording device to capture one of the alleged rapes on video.

He even threatened to kill her and her family unless she continued to do what he said, it is alleged.

Robin Patton, prosecuting, described how Gibson told the woman he would not distribute more of the pictures if she continued to submit to sex with him.

Mr Patton told the court: "He threatened to distribute these images to people who were going to go to a Sunderland football match if she did not play by his rules."

Footage showing the alleged rape will be played for the jury today.

Gibson denies ten charges of rape said to have taken place between October 12, 2003, and February 1, 2004.

He also denies a charge of harrassment between September 1, 2003, and February 1, 2004.

Gibson claims he set up the secret recording device because he suspected someone was stealing money from him.

The trial continues.
