SCHOOLchildren sprung into action yesterday to start raising funds to kit out their classrooms with better computers. Pupils at Ferryhill Station Primary School took part in a sponsored bounce to start a cash crusade aimed at improving IT resources in the school.
Headteacher Val Jago said: "We hope to raise around £12,000 to buy new computers for classrooms and the computer suite. It is important to youngsters to have access to state-of-the-art technology for all areas of their curriculum.
"The sponsored jump, on a big bouncy castle, was the first real fundraising effort towards computers and it was a fun way to start."
