TRAINING provider Anderson Business College has won a contract to train managers at Marlow Foods.

The Sunderland company will put several of Marlow Foods' managers through a diploma in management.

The contract win represents a coup for the business college.

Marlow Foods, based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, which makes the meat substitute Quorn, has a £75m annual turnover and 350 employees.

Julia Smith, Anderson Business College managing director, said: "We are a growing business and to be working for such a major operator as Marlow really takes us to a new level.

"We have done some work for them over the past few months and obviously they have been pleased with the service we have provided.

"We have ambitious plans for expansion this year and this contract win gives us a great start."

Founded in 2002, Anderson Business College provides management development and business training throughout the region and across a number of sectors.

To service the Marlow Foods contract and other clients in the south of the region, it has opened a second base in the Tees Valley.

The company's other clients include the Magistrates' Courts, Cleveland Potash, and Sunderland Social Services.
