A MEDIA company that opened a division in the region only six months ago plans to create 70 jobs.

Infoserve, based in Leeds, opened its sales division in offices in Stockton with 30 staff.

Investment in offices and staff will see its Teesside workforce grow to 100 by the end of August.

Business development director Chris Johnson said: "The moves mark a multi-million pound investment by Infoserve and demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to Teesside and strong belief we have in the high quality of employees the region offers."

Infoserve's new 8,000sq ft offices are at Ashmore House, in Richardson Road, Stockton.

Infoserve provides a range of marketing products for businesses.

The company has developed a strong market presence through www.city-visitor.com - the fastest growing and most used business finder on the Internet.

The city-visitor website attracts more than 50 million hits a month.

Managing director Steve Barnes said: "Our move to larger premises in Stockton is key to the future development of the company and will enable us to consolidate and further the growth of the company in 2005 and beyond."
