WOMEN in Stanley showed they had the feel-good factor yesterday at an event held for them.
The sessions in the hall of St Stephen's Church, in Holly Hill Gardens, coincided with International Women's Day.
They included make overs, self defence courses, tai chi demonstrations, mini manicures, beauty tips and a free buffet lunch.
Lynne Teasdale, community health worker for Stanley Green Corridor Neighbourhood, said: "It is an important step in long-term community health development work and an equally important initiative to help all members of the community to be healthy and safe in their own homes. We hope people who came along took advantage of what is on offer and found the information useful."
The sessions were organised in conjunction with Derwentside Primary Care Trust, Derwentside District Council, Age Concern and Sure Start Stanley.
