BRAVE fundraisers will put their best foot forward next week in aid of a hospice.

The Butterwick Hospice has challenged supporters to walk across burning coals to raise cash.

More than 20 people have volunteered for the sponsored firewalk at Ceddesfeld Hall, in Sedgefield village, on Tuesday night.

Among those taking part is Sedgefield beat officer PC Keith Todd, who will split the money he collects between the hospice and a village appeal to restore its war memorial.

The Mayor of Sedgefield Borough, Marie Predki, has chosen the hospice as her nominated charity so has nominated her husband and consort Tom Heslop to take part.

A team of dart players from Billy Row Workingmen's Club are embarking on the challenge to add to the funds they have already raised.
