A MUSEUM is turning to science to celebrate one of the world's biggest ideas next week.
Killhope, the North of England Lead Mining Museum, in Upper Weardale, is opening early from its winter break next Saturday, for a free Einstein Birthday workshop.
The event is part of National Science Week and marks the 100th anniversary of Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity, which changed the way people thought about space and time.
There will be quizzes, trails and family challenges, such as building a balloon-bursting machine from junk and making experimental rockets.
Visitors will need wellingtons and warm clothing. The museum opens at 10.30am.
