PEOPLE are being given their say on the future of a wildlife haven created during the Turning the Tide project.
Four thousand leaflets have been sent to homes in the Horden area asking for ideas on the management of more than 60 hectares of land at Horden Denes that has been designated a local nature reserve.
The Turning the Tide project helped reverse decades of damage caused to the coastline by mining, including at Horden Denes.
The land includes woodland, magnesian limestone grassland and a variety of plants and wildlife.
Three public sessions will be held so residents can discuss proposals. They will be held tomorrow at Horden Social Welfare, on Wednesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Primary School and at Cotsford Junior School on Thursday, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm each day.
