A PHILOSOPHER will discuss changing views of the earth at a talk this evening.
Mary Midgely will be appearing at Durham University's Queen's Campus, in Stockton.
Her talk, Changing Visions of The Earth, is part of the Caf Scientifique programme, a series of informal scientific debates organised by the campus.
A former Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at Newcastle University, Ms Midgely has been described as "one of the finest thinkers in the English language".
Admission is free for the talk, at Arc, at 7.45pm for 8pm, although attendees are invited to make a small contribution towards expenses.
