POLICE are trying to trace a motorist who drove off after damaging a bridge.
The incident happened at Gilmonby Bridge, near Bowes, in Teesdale, on Wednesday, March 16.
Sergeant Bill Dutton, of Barnard Castle Police, said: "We had a report of damage to the bridge and stones on the road. Officers attended and found some minor damage to the bridge and the stones have now been cleared by the council.
"However, we would like to trace the person who caused the damage." Anyone with any information is asked to call 0845 6060 365.
