A WOMAN who turned to prostitution in order to feed her heroin habit has been warned she could face jail after she broke the terms of a Drug Testing and Treatment Order (DTTO).

Teesside Crown Court heard that Cheryl Moore, 23, had been handed the order on March 11 last year having admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin.

However, despite making a good start, she had failed to attend five appointments on the course in November last year.

Johnny Walker, for Moore, who admitted being in breach of the order, said she at one stage had a heroin habit of £200 a day and had turned to prostitution as a result.

He said she had been committed to the DTTO, but her attendance had tailed off simply because she did not feel like completing the order.

Mr Walker said Moore, of Thornton Street, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, had now volunteered for a methadone programme from her GP in order to help wean her off the drug.

Recorder Michael Swift said he would adjourn her case for reports since he did not have all the up to date information he required to deal with her.

Bailing Moore, he said: "Imprisonment is still a live option in this case but I have to consider all options."
