MATTY Robson is making the most of the chance to play in his preferred position.

After 51 appearances in a Hartlepool United shirt at left-back, the 19-year-old has started the last three games in his preferred role on the left wing.

He is likely to stay there tomorrow when Pool face Swindon at Victoria Park, desperate to return to winning ways at home after losing five of their last six games in front of their own fans.

He admitted: "I've been given a chance playing further forward, it's more my natural position. I can play at left-back, but further up the field is where I want to be.

"I had instructions to get at Blackpool's full back, especially with him being on a yellow card and he caught me late when I went past him - there could be no complaints.''

Easter wasn't a joyous one for Pool, with a home defeat to Huddersfield followed by a draw at Blackpool.

Robson admitted: "We wanted at least four points from the six available. But there are still eight games left and we want to beat the 73 points we achieved last year.

"Other results went our way last week, but it's up to us to make the most of our advantage and kill teams off.

"We came off the pitch at Blackpool feeling just like we did against Huddersfield last week.

"We were playing against ten men on both occasions and couldn't make the most of it.

"We were very comfortable for long periods on Monday, we were well in control and it was disappointing to concede like we did.

"We went behind very early on, but credit to the lads because we turned it around and won a point away from home.''

Robson added: "Our home form has been poor of late - but we just haven't been getting the rewards.

"We really took the game to Huddersfield and Tranmere and lost them both by one goal.

"It's not nice for fans to travel to away games, expect us to win, then go to the home games and expect the same when we aren't doing it."
