A TEENAGE badminton player is looking forward to new challenges after a successful year on court.

Luke Brudenell, 17, who studies at Northallerton College, was selected to play for Yorkshire U19s, who were representing England.

He competed in the Dutch Masters in December, and won the men's doubles competition.

Northallerton College's joint head of PE, Ruth Curtis, said: "After playing competitively for the past six years, Luke has exhibited a lot of talent and has a bright future in the sport to look forward to."

Luke, of Northallerton, said: "It is my ambition to break into the top 20 senior singles players.
