ALAN SHEARER was left seeing double when he met his film stand-in at St James's Park.
Shearer burst out laughing when he bumped into former rugby union pin-up Martin Shaw, who plays Shearer in a £16m film out in August.
A former Newcastle Falcons player, Mr Shaw was among locals chosen to act as the body-doubles of star players for movie Goal!, which was shot at St James's Park.
He said: "I could not believe it when one of the coaches asked me if I'd play Shearer.
"I had to spend hours on the pitch filming scenes where the stars of the film would be in the foreground and I'd be moving in the background."
Mr Shaw, of Chilton, County Durham, was one of 50 finalists nominated in a national women's magazine as Batchelor of the Year 2004.
