DAYTIME television stars celebrated the opening of a designer shop at the weekend.

Countdown presenter Richard Whiteley, who lives near Leyburn, North Yorkshire, hosted a party on Saturday morning to mark the launch of Bradleys, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Entertainer Des O'Connor opened the store and signed copies of his autobiography.

The store, in Prospect Crescent, will stock jewellery, watches and homeware from designers including Baccarat, Dior and Armani.

Former York College of Art student Theo Fennell, whose jewellery has been bought by celebrities such as David Beckham, Naomi Campbell and Elton John, has also agreed to house his collection at Bradleys.

Work by local and international artists will also be displayed.
