VITAL road safety messages will be blazoned across a trailer driving home the message to thousands of residents.
The eye-catching exhibition, using road safety mascot Spike the Hedgehog, will be a familiar sight over the coming weeks in every community across Redcar and Cleveland.
The trailer will also visit schools to ensure the area's 26,000 pupils know about the dangers on roads and how to stay safe.
Councillor Eric Empson, in charge of road safety in the area, said: "With the increasing volume and speed of traffic, it has never been more important to provide informat- ion about how to stay safe on the road, whether as a pedestrian, a cyclist or in a vehicle.
"This trailer has a vital role, especially with the young, who are perhaps most at risk."
Following a competition involving all of the borough's schools, it was a group of pupils from Coatham Primary School that was chosen to pose with Spike for the picture that is boldly emblazoned across the trailer.
Visitors to the trailer will also be able to see the comprehensive range of facilities on board, including a built-in DVD and video player with surround sound and a 20-in display monitor.
The trailer also has full access for people with disabilities and a comfortable seating area.
