A MAN needed treatment by paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation following a fire at a house in Brandon, near Durham City, on Sunday night.
A small fire broke out in the kitchen of the house, in Willow Close, shortly after 8pm and fire crews were called after the householder failed to respond to a smoke alarm.
The fire was discovered to be out on arrival.
