A THEATRE group that is staging its 30th production later this year has been singled out for an award from The Northern Echo for its website.

Centre Stage, based in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton, won a camera for being this month's CommuniGate Pick of the Month.

The amateur dramatics group created its website to help publicise future productions, including its version of Guys and Dolls, due to be staged in July.

The website was created by group member Joe Clarke, 17, who chose CommuniGate to host the website because he wanted to take advantage of the site's calendar facility.

He intends to use this to let cast members know when rehearsals are taking place and to inform audiences when shows are being performed.

The website also has a link to a map, showing the location of the Sunday rehearsal space.

The website is at www.communigate.co.uk/ne/centrestage2.

The group is looking for new members. Anyone interested can contact Maureen Tait on (01642) 782649.

All CommuniGate websites chosen as Pick of the Month receive a Practika Digital Camera, courtesy of Darlington-based sponsors Sales and Marketing Services.
