FINAL-YEAR archaeology students are going potty about pottery at a new exhibition which opened last weekend.
From Clay To Collection - The Life And Times Of A Roman Pot opened at the Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology in Durham City. The exhibition, by Durham University students, explains how the Romans made, decorated, traded and used their pots and aims to bring a dusty subject to life.
Museum curator Craig Barclay said: "The Museum of Archaeology is delighted to host this exciting new exhibition of objects from our own collection. We have really enjoyed giving Durham students an opportunity to bring to life our world-class collection of Roman pottery."
The exhibition runs until June 12. The museum is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from noon to 5pm at weekends. A sale of books, plants and cakes takes place at the museum on Saturday, from 11am.
