A man was in custody last night after an incident involving a knife.
Nicholas Michael Dobinson, 40, of Willance Grove, Richmond, North Yorkshire, was arrested on Monday afternoon after allegedly being spotted with the weapon in public in Richmond.
Officers found the man on the banks of the River Swale.
He was taken to Northallerton police station before being transferred to Harrogate, where he remained last night.
