YOUNG footballers helped a Darlington school win a competition for the first time.
Hurworth School and Maths and Computing College won the Darlington Schools Year Seven Football Tournament, after beating Hummersknott School 1-0 in the final at the Railway Athletic Ground, in Brinkburn Road.
It was the first time Hurworth have won the coveted trophy.
Teacher Rita Rees said: "We are all absolutely delighted."
