PLANS to convert an old farm into a complex of offices in the shadow of an historic church have gained approval.
The scheme, near the 12th Century St Mary's Priory at Old Malton, was opposed by neighbours, saying it would spoil the conservation area.
Members of Ryedale District Council are to make a site visit to Manor Farm, Town Street, before giving approval to a detailed scheme.
Councillor Howard Keal said it would create jobs, but a sympathetic design was needed.
