Soldiers met customers at a shopping centre on Saturday to mark National TA Day.
They invited shoppers in Middlesbrough to sign up to units across the North-East.
The Mall, Cleveland, shopping centre's mascot Mall Monster joined recruits for a spot of training.
Visitors had the chance to test their stamina as well as look at specialist army vehicles.
Tracey Surtees, marketing manager at the shopping centre, said: "This was a great opportunity to find out more about what the TA does in the area and of course the Mall Monster was encouraging shoppers to get involved."
The shopping centre mascot was put through his paces last weekend by the Territorial Army.
