MIDDLETON St George secured their sixth straight win when they had nine wickets to spare over second-placed Aldbrough St John last Saturday.

Aldbrough managed only 91 all out as McKenna took 6-41 and Rogers ended with 3-20. The modest target proved no problem to Middleton St George as Rogers carried his bat for 55.

Rockcliffe Park are third and had 117 runs in hand over Heighington after romping to 149-4, which included 68 by John Pybus and 65 from his opening partner Darren Wheeler.

The pair added 116 for the first wicket and the good work was maintained by Bean with an unbeaten 47 and Edwards, who was 37 not out. Jackson took all four wickets to fall at a cost of 99 runs in 13 overs.

Heighington then managed only 132-7. Following a poor start they were indebted to Darren Riley and Gary Sowerby, who were both 49 not out.

Barton had 43 runs in hand over Haughton, who were restricted to 119-7. Keith Hopper maintained his good start to the season with 51 and Wilkinson ended unbeaten on 36 for the visitors, while Hull took 3-21 for Barton, who had reached 162-7.

They were indebted to an opening partnership between Miller (40) and Lockey (50) and Kearney later added 27. Hopper, Wilkinson and McCartney all took two wickets for Haughton.

Barningham made the big total of 212-3, but still lost to Spennithorne and Harmby, who conceded just two wickets. Tunstall batted throughout for Spennithorne, ending undefeated on 90, while Greaves contributed 43 before being run out and Farrow ended on 34 not out.

Barningham's runs flowed from opener Blackburn (64), Newton (31) and Lowes (54no), while Kearton was undefeated on 29.

Raby Castle defeated Cockerton by 28 runs after realising 151-7 with useful contributions of 25 by M Dent, 27 from Poole and 28 not out by I Dent.

Leafe had 4-59 and Rawlings 3-81 for Cockerton, who responded with 123-9. Lethbridge made 50, while Dent had 3-17, Poole 2-26 and Scaife 2-60 for the home side.

Ingleton defeated Cliffe by 20 runs after restricting their visitors to 146-8, which included 55 by Curry. Dent claimed 3-60 and Osborne took 2-6.

Ingleton had made a poor start and their first three batsmen contributed just two runs between them, but Mellor (60) and Stuart Dawson (66) propelled the total to 166-6. Mughal was the most successful bowler in the Cliffe attack, ending with 3-31, while Curry had 2-26.

Lands lead Division Two and had seven wickets in hand over visitors Eryholme, who, after occupying the wicket for 30 overs, had only 79-6 on the board.

Their top scorer was Colin Harker, who ended undefeated with 33, while Ben Howe took 3-22 in 15 overs and Gary Close had 2-12 from six overs.

Lands then made 81-3 in 21 overs and most of their total came from opener Andrew Elstob, who carried his bat for 63. Geoff Lynn took 2-20 in nine overs.

Middleton in Teesdsale are second and had 28 runs in hand over Trimdon CCA after making 116-4, which included 49 by Bradley and 26 from N Watson.

Trimdon managed only 88-7 with Coughtrey scoring 29 and Lee an unbeaten 21 as Coatesworth claimed 4-24.

Rockcliffe Park made a useful 169 all out, but were still beaten by visiting Heighington. Pounder opened for Rockcliffe Park with 57 and there was a useful contribution of 24 by Allenby and 26 not out from Ellis, while Overfield (4-51), Hodgson (3-27) and Jamieson (3-58) shared the ten wickets for Heighington.

Heighington's match-winner was Sowerby with an unbeaten 53, but the top contribution to the innings was an amazing 56 extras in a total of 172-4.

East Cowton overtook the Brompton on Swale total of 131-9 with four wickets intact. Whelpton top-scored with 38 and Copeland added 26.

When they batted first, Brompton were indebted to Dale for his top-scoring 33, while Whitfield had excellent figures of 5-55 for East Cowton.

Crisp batted throughout the Witton le Wear innings and ended undefeated with 100 out of a total of 150-5 at Catterick Village, for whom Swainston and Pounder both took two wickets.

But Crisp still ended on the losing side as Catterick Village won by six wickets. Opener Carter batted throughout for 57 not out and Swainston contributed 67 to the total of 151-4.

After totalling 217-6, Spennymoor restricted Barton to 155-4. Troupe made 53 and Ross ended unbeaten on 56 for Spennymoor, while Bloom and Fairy both made half centuries for Barton.

In Division Three, Barningham defeated King James by 40 runs after Metcalfe hit 121 in their total of 199. Although Hill made 59, King James could only respond with 159.

In contrast, runs were scarce as Cliffe were dismissed for 69 by Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill, for whom Craggs claimed 6-30. Trimdon went on to win by six wickets.

Widdall top-scored with 77 and Winspear had 4-77 when Cockerton realised 172-7 against Raby Castle, who replied with 153 all out as Snee took 5-59 and Grundy 4-22.

Lands defeated Haughton by 21 runs. Haughton were all out for 82, including 51 not out from Barker, as Target took 5-40 for Lands.

Trimdon CCA conceded their game with Dales, as did Middleton Tyas, who were due to meet Aldbrough St John.
