Durham Coast League: Murton, who moved to the top of the table for the first time this season on Saturday, maintained pole position despite being held to a draw by lowly Boldon CA in yesterday's programme.

Gary Robson was in typical prolific form with the bat scoring 78 in Murton's 177 for nine declared and in reply, Boldon battled to reach 107-7.

Castle Eden, deposed from pole position on Saturday, also drew their fixture at Ryhope.

Michael Higgin (94) and Allan Unsworth with 65 propelled Castle Eden to the formidable total of 241 for four but the game petered out to a draw with the home side ending in a comfortable position on 133 for seven at stumps.

Silksworth failed to make up ground on the two leading sides when they went down to Bill Quay. Alan Rackstraw claimed five wickets at minimum cost reducing the Wearsiders to 133 and an unbeaten 59 by opener Matthew Dench swept the visitors to a seven-wicket win.

Seaham Park, who toppled Castle Eden on Saturday, were on the receiving end of a six-wicket defeat by Peterlee.

Dale Butler took four of the wickets when Seaham posted 161 for six before Mark Simpson with 42 and Adam Maddison (38 not out) guided Peterlee to victory.

On Saturday it was a century by Gary Robson and five wickets from Calvin Stephenson which swept Murton to the top of the table.

Murton declared at 200 for four and then restricted Washington to 132 as Stephenson's five wickets were taken for just 33 runs.

David Naunton also impressed with figures of 3-25.

Castle Eden were toppled from pole position when they went down to Seaham Park by three wickets.

Alan Dick was the architect of victory, claiming 7-52 as the home side were all out for just 125. Even though Allan Unsworth captured four wickets at little cost, Castle Eden suffered their first defeat of the season.

Houghton made their biggest score for an awful long time - but still lost to Ryhope.

Ian Hauxwell top-performed with 82 out of 243-9 before John Minnis with 107 not out and Greg Arundel (79) steered Ryhope to victory by a six wicket margin.

Bill Quay did even better at the wicket, reaching 257-5 before applying the declaration against Peterlee, who battled for a draw. Shaun Smith ended unbeaten with 101 for the home side and Peterlee were well served by several players, notably Dale Butler with a half-century.

Silksworth had 37 runs in hand of Boldon CA, who were bowled out for 140 as Stephen Wright (5-60) and Chris Pringle (3-33) dominated despite late contributions from Karl Bellerby with 31 and George Lincoln (37).

Craig Nield had nine fours in 55 not out when Silksworth batted first and realised 177 for the loss of nine wickets before calling their innings to a halt.

Ryan Consitt, with 35 not out, earned Dawdon a share of the points at Easington, who declared on 135 for eight.

Once again, Robbie Atherton shone for Easington with a half-century.
