A NEW man has taken over at the helm of the Citizens Advice Bureau, in Darlington.

Mike Hill, of Hutton Rudby, North Yorkshire, has become the service's manager, after spending the past six months establishing a management system at the London Jewish Museum of Art.

He started his career in the Cleveland county museum service, running the Cleveland Gallery and Cleveland Craft Centre for seven years, before becoming director of the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art, in Sunderland.

Mr Hill said: "Employment rights, benefit entitlement, debt issues - these are three of the most common subjects that clients bring to our trained advisers, and they are set to become problems for more and more people in Darlington.

"There has probably never been a greater need for CAB.

"My own role won't be in the front-line, but supporting the front-line team."
