POLICE are hunting thieves who made off with a haul worth £25,000 from a Durham business unit, including two vehicles.

The raid happened at about 1pm on Friday, May 20, when three men in a white Ford Transit van - thought to have false registration plates - pulled up at premises in Damson Way on the Dragonville Industrial Estate.

It is thought that two men searched the building and stole two sets of vehicle keys from a cabinet, before driving off in a Ford Transit van and a Toyota Hilux 4x4.

Also stolen during the burglary was a quantity of grass-cutting machinery.

Police are hoping that someone may have information on the raid and have issued descriptions of the men, both of whom are white, who got out of the van.

One is of medium to stocky build and was wearing a long-sleeved jumper and tracksuit bottoms with a stripe down the side.

The other was aged about 25 to 30, of proportionate build with short fair hair. He was wearing a hooped jumper and dark trousers.

Police are urging anyone who might recognise the men to come forward.

Anyone with information can ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and may be eligible for a reward.
