Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League: Sacriston scored almost 200 but could not prevent Leadgate moving to the top of the table.

Ian Jones claimed three early wickets but Rohan Rafiq inspired Leadgate carved out a sixth win in seven attempts. He hit an unbeaten 76, which together with a half century from Paul Hockaday and 45 not out by Gary Innes, helped Leadgate win by five wickets.

Phil Shield was in good form with the bat for Sacriston and he made 73 to help his side to 198-77.

Swalwell suffered their first defeat in seven matches to Tynedale. The visitors were all out for 167 with Scott Kay taking seven for 36.

Tynedale's match-winning 235-7 featured a top-scoring innings of 78 by Stuart Graham.

Neil Killeen could hardly have made a better debut for Burnopfield against Shotley Bridge at the Spa. He partnered Marcus Peart (46) in a century stand to lay the foundations for a five-wickets victory. Killeen took one for 27 before hitting a magnificent unbeaten 97.

Phil Brown and David Golightly both made half centuries in Shotley's total of 181 for five.

Annfield Plain had more than 100 runs to spare at Lanchester where they posted 233. Jamaican Nikitta Miller (80) and Andrew Donnelly (51) gave the side a good start, and although Tony Halliday and Farukh Iqbal both took four wickets, Lanchester never looked like achieving the colossal total.

Newcastle City made it five in a row against championship rivals Ashington. Sohail hit 57 not out in in City's total of 213 before the Colliers were restricted to 176, which included 60 by Stephen Boyd.

Benwell and Walbottle lost for the seventh consecutive time when Ponteland overtook their total of 221-5 with four wickets intact. Darwood hit 97 and Malcolm Clark (42) and Lloyd Anderson with 37 also made valuable contributions.

Graeme Dakers hit an unbeaten 94 for Benwell.
