Silverhay, who has improved with every outing this year, should be spot on after three runs and is the fancy in the Blue Diamond Night Here On 16 June Handicap over the extended seven furlongs at Beverley this afternoon.

David Barron's front-runner, who won twice over a mile last summer, showed that a return to winning ways was imminent from a wide draw at Newcastle on his most recent outing.

And, although a few places behind the in-form Jubilee Street on that occasion, he's much better berthed here and last week's results on the round course at this track highlighted the importance of racing close to the pace from a good draw.

He's back on a decent mark and won't mind the drying ground. Although promising apprentice Philip Makin did nothing wrong on him last time, he's interesting today under Kevin Darley.

Darley can also be on the mark with Mark Johnston's well-drawn Formal Approval, who showed ability on her debut at Newcastle last month and is open to improvement.

Darley was aboard Tim Easterby's Brave Bear when the three-year-old scored at Hamilton last week but, David Allan now takes over on the sprinter in the Win A Blue Diamond Here Next Thursday Fillies' Handicap over five furlongs.

Although that race didn't take much winning, the filly, who is well drawn, did show the right attitude, and that determination will stand her in good stead in only this marginally stronger race.

Easterby has his string in tremendous fettle, as does Allan, who can be on the mark with Grey Clouds. He could go well at decent odds in the Eltherington Group Handicap over a mile and a quarter.

Drying conditions will suit and the filly, who has shaped a bit better than her finishing positions suggest this year, is back on a fair mark and is taken to get the better of Tight Squeeze.

Kevin Ryan has been in good form this term and his Pride Of Kinloch is taken to finally get off the mark on her first run for the handler in the Saints And Sinners 40th Anniversary Amateur Riders' Handicap over six furlongs. She has been disappointing for James Hetherton but the switch to Ryan may revitalise her enthusiasm and, with the excellent Nina Carberry booked, she's a sporting nap to win from what looks a favourable mark.

Ryan's Barking Mad, who has been in good form this year, has a good chance at the weights and will appreciate the drop in grade in the Tennent Caledonian Breweries Claimer over a mile and three furlongs.

Mick Easterby's Mezuzah will be hard to beat under a penalty in the competitive looking Walter Scott Saints & Sinners Challenge Cup over the extended mile - the scene of his demolition job last week.

At Newbury, John Quinn's Jake Black, who won with plenty of authority at Newcastle last week, is fancied to follow up under a penalty in the Bollinger Champagne Challenge Series Handicap over a mile and a quarter.

Sir Michael Stoute's Karliyna is a progressive sort open to bags of improvement and takes the eye under Jamie Spencer in the Lord Weinstock Memorial Listed Race over the same distance.
