ONE of the world's most famous steam locomotives - The Flying Scotsman- will be on show at a conference this weekend.

And Nobel Prize-winning Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former US Secretary of State Colin Powell will be the key speakers at the Yorkshire International Business Convention.

The Flying Scotsman arrived on a low-loader yesterday at the Yorkshire Events Centre in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, from its permanent home in the National Railway Museum at York.

The event's chief executive Mike Firth said: "We always try to find something that makes the convention a little different, a little bit special.

"Whether you are interested in trains or not, it really is part of this region's history and indeed an important symbol of a business that was a key industry within Yorkshire."

About 2,000 delegates are expected to attend the event, which opens today and runs from 7.30am to 4.30pm.
