Richard Fahey looks to be striking while the iron is hot with Realism, who has strong claims from a favourable draw in the CSFB AES Handicap over a mile and a quarter at Sandown this afternoon.

Fahey's runner was progressive on a sound surface last year and notched the last of his five wins for the year when beating Fortunes Princess in good style at Leicester in July.

And he showed he retains all his ability, despite being out of the handicap, when a very solid second to Eccentric, who was thrown in on the pick of his all-weather form, over this trip at Epsom last week.

He's well drawn for one that can race up with the pace and, from a 2lb lower mark, is fancied to get the better of Top Spec, who ran with credit over this course and distance last time and is also well drawn.

Northern stables can also be on the mark at the Esher track with Adoration, who is fancied to give a good account under his penalty in the Mousetrap Challenge Cup Handicap over a mile.

Mark Johnston's three-year-old disappointed at Newcastle on his penultimate start but showed that running to be all wrong when tried in the first time blinkers at Beverley last week, and he's well drawn again for one that races up with the pace.

At Catterick Rectangle, who shaped as though a return to winning ways was imminent at Pontefract on Monday, is the fancy in the Leslie Petch Handicap.

Micky Hammond's sprinter will be suited by the likely strong pace of this contest and will have no problems with this easy six furlongs. He is taken to beat likely favourite Kangarilla Road.

A decent pace looks likely for the Griy Handicap over two miles and this will suit recent course and distance winner Red Sun, who had a couple of these behind when prevailing here.

He wasn't suited by making his own running in a messy race at Newcastle last time but the race should be run to suit and he's fancied to get the better of Mark Johnston's progressive Lady Karr.

Beverley Beau's runs on easy ground this term can be overlooked but he's of much more interest back on a sound surface in the modest-looking Jervaulx Apprentice Handicap over five furlongs.

Lynda Stubbs' three-year-old is back on a favourable mark, looks well drawn and is taken to a similar type in Shatin Leader, who has also been all at sea on soft ground of late.

At Wolverhampton Ashes is interesting for the in-form Karl Burke in the Arena Leisure PLC Handicap over her optimum trip of five furlongs. A course and distance winner when poorly drawn, the three-year-old bolted up at Ayr last time and, although 7lb higher, she's the one to beat from stall 3.

Locombe Hill, who broke a losing run here yesterday, is fancied to follow up in the Courses For Horses Day Tomorrow Handicap
