A STOREMAN who has already been recognised as one of the country's finest will shortly discover if he is the best in the UK.

Glen Doyle is one of only three people shortlisted for the title Warehouseperson of the Year.

Mr Doyle, who has worked for three years for SembCorp Utilities UK at the Wilton International site, near Redcar, will hear if he has won the UK Warehousing Association award at a ceremony in London next month.

The 31-year-old, of Aviemore Road, Hemlington, near Middlesbrough, said: "It's a great honour for me personally to be shortlisted, but I believe it also reflects the hard work carried out by the entire team in the stores area."

Ian Tulloch, the stores manager at SembCorp, said: "It didn't surprise me that he was shortlisted.

"He has a wide range of talents, not least his ability to motivate and support his colleagues in the business.

"Glen has proved an excellent ambassador for our business and is constantly being complimented by our customers for his dedication and commitment to service.

"He's an excellent example for everyone to follow.''

Mr Doyle's domain is 500,000 square feet of storage space which can hold 60,000 items.
